About

Call me Sooz!

I am a person of many facets. In my spare time, I’m an artist (graphic design and painting) and dabble in photography and writing and acting and costuming and film-making and music.

I am also typically a city dweller (formerly in Denver, CO) with my husband and dog, both of whom I love very much.

I was born in New Orleans, but didn’t grow up here.  That didn’t stop me from trying to get back here, in some form or another, for what feels like my entire life.  This year, after slowly saving up for three years to make the Dream happen, I have finally Followed My Crazy, and we have arrived.

New adventures and Crazy await!

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog Sooz! Happy Mardi Gras to you! I love your blog and WHEN you move back home (you were born here, that counts to us) it’s gonna be so awesome! Next year, the Super Bowl in the Super Dome and we all KNOW the Saints will be in the Super Bowl…what could be better than that?!
I’ll be blogging all about carnival so, be sure to check in over there!

    • Yay, thank YOU for visiting in return! Am thinking of everyone down there today, no mistake! So can’t wait to get ourselves down there – we’re trying to gain some sort of employment before we go…but it’s hard, doing it long distance. Might just have to be brave and bite the bullet, but we’ll see as things progress. But YES, what a year to make it, can’t wait for that Superbowl!!

  2. I just read your last post written last week so I’m assuming you made it here – hurray!! Welcome, welcome, welcome. I’m looking forward to reading your musings of the Crescent City and to, maybe, meeting you one day. xoxo

    • Thank you thank you thank you! We made it, we’re here! FINALLY got my computer-and-internet-in-hotel-room situation sorted, it’s great to be back online and I can’t wait to get all caught up on here. I look forward to meeting you one day as well!

  3. Well, Sooz, as the man said, “You can run but you cannot hide!” I finally got up on here and have it set up on the ol’ bookmark bar. I always knew you could write, but needless to say I’m really impressed with my kid. I hope you can get squared away down there pretty soon, so we can return there, too.

    • Yay yay YAY! Hi dad!!!!

I’m glad you made it over here, and that you Dig it. :D And thank you, the compliment on writing means the most coming from you!

Still working on the Getting Squared Away thing – I’ve always known that it takes time, but it’s still hard to be patient! More news forthcoming, via email! Because yeah, ya gotta be here!

  4. Just postin’ to say I still love reading what you write, and misses you. There’s times lately I think of ‘pullin’ a Merlot’ and just taking off without a plan, like you did.

    Magpie

    • HI MAGPIE! :D It’s funny, about an hour before this showed up in my inbox, I was actually thinking about you, and wondering how you were, and if you were still out there readin’. So that is awesome.

As far as “pullin’ a Merlot,” I don’t blame you. It has had it’s fair share of challenges, and ups and downs, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
